Terms of Service

1. About the Service

Well Togethr ("the app", "the service") is a care-focused application that helps people stay connected with someone they care about. It provides gentle daily check-ins, routines, and communication tools between members and their supporters.

By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Who Can Use the Service

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must provide a valid email address.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
  • One account per person. Shared accounts are not permitted.

3. Account Types

Members are the people being supported. They check in daily, manage routines, track medications, and share how they are doing with their supporters.

Supporters (also called contacts) are the people who care about a member. They see how the member is doing and can send signals, messages, and supportive notes.

Some users may be both a member and a supporter for different people.

4. What the Service Is Not

Well Togethr is not a medical service, emergency service, or professional care platform. Specifically:

  • It is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • It is not a crisis or emergency response service. If someone is in danger, call emergency services.
  • It does not provide professional caregiving, counseling, or therapy.
  • It does not monitor health conditions or provide medical alerts.
  • Medication tracking is for personal organization only and does not replace medical supervision.

The app is designed to help people stay gently connected. It is a communication and wellbeing tool, not a clinical one.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in the app, including check-ins, photos, vault documents, messages, and notes.

By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the service. For example:

  • Photos you share are displayed to your connected supporters.
  • Check-in data you submit is included in daily summary notifications to your supporters.
  • Vault documents you share are accessible to the specific people you choose.

We do not use your content for advertising, marketing, or any purpose beyond providing the service to you and the people you are connected with.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm another person.
  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates another person's rights.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the service (except with our written permission).
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
  • Create accounts with false information or for fraudulent purposes.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Connections and Consent

Connecting with someone on Well Togethr requires mutual consent:

  • Invitations must be accepted by the recipient before any data is shared.
  • Either party can disconnect at any time. Disconnecting immediately stops data sharing.
  • Members control what supporters can see (e.g. event notes are private unless explicitly shared).

You are responsible for only connecting with people you trust. We cannot verify the identity or intentions of other users.

8. Vault Documents

The Vault feature allows you to store sensitive documents (legal, insurance, identity, emergency). These documents are encrypted at rest and accessible only to you and the specific people you choose to share them with.

We do not access, read, or review vault documents. We are not responsible for the accuracy, validity, or legal standing of any documents you store.

The Vault is provided as a convenience feature. It is not a certified document storage service. We recommend keeping copies of important documents in other secure locations.

9. Photos

When you upload a photo, location metadata (EXIF data) is automatically stripped before storage. Photos are resized for display.

  • Private photos are visible only to you.
  • Shared photos are visible to your connected supporters and are automatically deleted after 7 days.
  • Help photos are visible to your supporters as part of a help request. They are auto-resolved after 24 hours if unclaimed and deleted after 7 days.

You are responsible for the content of photos you upload. Do not upload photos that contain illegal content or that violate another person's privacy.

10. Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we will send you alerts about activity relevant to your account (e.g. when someone you support checks in, or when someone responds to your help request).

Supporters receive a daily summary notification at approximately 8pm in the member's timezone.

You can disable push notifications at any time through your browser settings.

11. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Account > Advanced. Deletion requires your password to confirm.

When you delete your account:

  • All your data is permanently deleted, including check-ins, events, routines, medications, photos, vault documents, messages, connections, and supporter notes.
  • Your connections with other users are removed.
  • This action is immediate and cannot be undone.

12. Service Availability

We aim to keep the service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will provide reasonable notice and allow users to export their data.

13. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We are not liable for:

  • Any harm resulting from reliance on information in the app.
  • Actions or inactions of other users (including supporters or members).
  • Loss of data due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
  • Medical outcomes related to medication tracking or health-related features.
  • Delays or failures in notification delivery.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

14. Privacy

Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect and how we use it.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
